Heartsong Announces New CD
Heartsong Church announces the release of a brand new CD by its own Wing and a Prayer band. Wing and a Prayer performs every Sunday at Heartsong’s two celebrations (8:45 and 10:45 a.m.) and includes National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) Premier Player award winners Jackie Johnson (vocals) and Dave Smith (bass and CD producer) and staples of the Memphis music scene like Freddie Kirksey (keyboard), Maggie Lee (vocals), Tom Link (sax), Greg Lundy (drums), Gene Nunez (lead guitar) and Hal VanCanneyt (vocals). The CD’s eclectic mix of blues, soul, rock and gospel is difficult to categorize, but a gold mine of musical pleasure.
The CD is available at the church and also, Borders, Cats Music in Cordova and Davis-Kidd.
